Dulwich Friends and Family
A letter from our Founders.
Three years ago we came up with a ‘simple’ goal.. create a thoughtful, cost-effective and family friendly ski trip that builds community. Ultimately we hope to build an alumni of families who will create memories for years to come with children who’ll grow up with a desire to continue with their childhood friends long after.
We’re often asked why on earth we took this on. Until we joined a trip like this back in 2022, we had never actually ski-ed before (Luis still hasn’t). Having recently moved back to the Dulwich area, we saw the trip as first, an opportunity to learn something completely new as a family and second, a chance to meet other parents and make local friends. It fulfilled exactly what we wanted but we felt there could have been better provision both for families with young children and those who had never ski-ed before. Rather than barriers we saw travelling with young children and zero skiing experience as perfect reasons to jump on a trip like this in the first place. And so with a small team, we set about making it happen.
The community we’ve created so far has really been the backbone of the success of the trip on the ground. 2026 will be our third year and already we have several families returning for their third time. We have children of all ages from babies right up to older teens. One of the most touching observations and a big appeal to me as a mother was the cross-generational bonds and lasting friendships we watched develop that were carried home. We also saw other great benefits for the children. Learning to ski with their friends is obviously the big one but the free ‘aprés-ski’ time the children have together at the hotel gives them a brilliant sense of independence and confidence by the end of the week.
With first-hand experience travelling with young children ourselves and now with four years ski-specific (albeit beginner) experience as well, we know it’s not always easy. The paraphernalia and all the faff that skiing can bring is a lot to contend with and can be intimidating especially as a first-time skier. And so we endeavoured to make this as easy as possible and as we found, where community comes in. We all help each other out, experienced ski families passing on their wisdom to newbies as well as skiwear hand-me-downs. As a company we wanted to provide a seamless experience taking care of all the elements to reduce parents’ stress so they can start relaxing as soon as possible, confident in the knowledge their children are going to have a brilliant time.
Community is central to us and that will only grow with you. This trip is open to family and friends that you wish to invite! We had grandparents (game changer), aunties, cousins, and family friends join us for 2025. And that is exactly how we wanted the trip to grow; To include your own friends and family within ours. So please take a good look at what we’ve put together to make this trip really special. It’s ultimately those who choose to join us that make it successful and so much fun!
With best wishes from us,
What’s included?
We’ve designed this trip so you can show up and truly enjoy it - without the usual planning stress. From accommodation, ski passes and lessons to equipment hire and thoughtful extras, everything is arranged with care and attention to detail.
Behind the scenes and on the ground, our incredible team keeps things running smoothly. We help young children settle in on the slopes - including chaperoning very young first-time skiers - and provide some evening activities for the children like a cosy movie night. We also host our now-legendary quiz night (complete with prizes) and capture memories throughout the week to create a shared trip video for everyone to enjoy.
Our aim is simple: to create a warm, relaxed environment where everyone - from toddlers to teens, parents to solo adults - feels free to have a genuinely good time.
The trip isn’t just about the week away—it starts before you even hit the slopes (if you want it to!) We host casual pub meet-ups in the run-up, so you can say hi to new people and reconnect with familiar faces. There’s also a one-month membership to 24N Fitness, a luxury gym and wellness spot right by Liverpool Street Station, to help you get slope-ready (or just unwind). And for anyone coming back for round two, we offer early access to our alumni early-bird rates.

We partner with a warm and welcoming four-star hotel in Les Arcs 1600 for a 7-night stay. With ski-in, ski-out access and its own equipment room, getting on the slopes is easy - a true game changer for families with children.
The hotel offers a range of comfortable room options to suit different group sizes, all available on a first-come, first-served basis:
Spacious 5- and 6-person suites
Family rooms for 3 or 4 guests
Double rooms
Interconnecting rooms and more
On-site amenities include a spa, generous communal spaces, a lively bar, and a friendly, accommodating team who go out of their way to make you feel at home. It’s the kind of place where comfort meets convenience—perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes or gearing up for your next run.
-
Breakfast and dinner is included, offered buffet-style with choices for even the pickiest of eaters. The dinner menu changes each day rotating through multiple local seasonal dishes with the option to pre-order a classic French Raclette to be shared.
-
Ski lessons for children are included in the trip and run from 9:30am to 4:00pm over five days, with a supervised lunch break on the mountain each day. Parents ski out to meet their children for lunch—an experience many families love.
We work exclusively with a team of fantastic Italian instructors, and all lesson groups are reserved just for our group—no external children join. This allows for a customised schedule, better communication, and greater flexibilitythroughout the week.
On the sixth day, lessons take a break so children can ski with their parents and show off their progress!
When you book, you’ll be asked to indicate your child’s experience level. The Ski Supreme team will then place them in a suitable group of no more than eight children. Once lessons begin, instructors may adjust groupings during the early stages to ensure each child is learning at the right pace.
-
For adults who want to join lessons, we offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced group options. Lessons are led by our trusted team of instructors: two in-house and one local Italian pro—all of whom we’ve worked with for the past two years and are thrilled to have back again.
Adult lessons typically run during the same hours as the children’s sessions but finish slightly earlier to allow time for pick-up if needed.
Joining a group is entirely optional—ideal for:
First-timers who want to learn the basics
Confident skiers looking to refresh their technique in a relaxed group setting
Advanced skiers eager to be challenged and pushed by our advanced instructor, James
Whether you're returning to the slopes or starting from scratch, our adult lessons are designed to be supportive, social, and fun.
-
We take care of ski pass hire, which includes access to 200km of pistes in Les Arcs / Peisey-Vallandry. While we recommend also buying your own insurance, we do include Carré Neige insurance, which covers you for the duration of your ski pass. This means that in the event of an accident on the mountain, you'll receive immediate assistance from local emergency services, including evacuation or even airlift support if needed.
-
We take care of all equipment hire, making the process as simple and stress-free as possible. Gear is collected on arrival day from a rental shop just a 2-minute walk from the hotel.
You can choose between standard or advanced ski options, depending on your experience and preferences. At the time of booking, you’ll let us know what you need—whether it’s skis only, boots, poles, or a full set—and we’ll handle the rest.
If you’re new here, just request a brochure using the form below—or feel free to email Ailish directly at ailish@friendsandfamilyadventures.co.uk with any questions.
Ready to book? Once you confirm you'd like to join, we’ll send over a booking form to collect details like lesson preferences, equipment hire, and more. After that, you’ll receive a tailored invoice and can secure your spot with a deposit. That’s it—easy!
